358th Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh celebrated at Digiana Ashram

JAMMU: 358th Parkash purab of 10th Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj was celebrated at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram Jammu under the supervision of Shriman Mahant Manjeet Singh of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch.

In the Gurpurab samagam thousands of devotees participated along with various Sikh organization of J&K including Sikh United Front J&K, Bhai Kanhiaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K ,Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Sikh Naujwan Sabha, Local Gurdwara Committees, Members DGPC Jammu along with others participated with zeal and enthusiasm.
The Ragi Jathas including Bhai Sukhpreet singh Ji Hazuri Ragi Shri Darbar Sahib Amritsar, Bhai Gurpreet singh ji Ragi Jatha Jalandhar, Harbhinder Singh ji Incharge Sikh Mission J&K, Bhai Gagandeep Singh ji Kirtan Jatha Simbal Camp, Bhai Bachan Singh ji & Bhai Ranjeet Singh UP Hazuri Ragi Digiana Ashram Jammu threw light on the life of Dashmesh Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.
Former CM J&K Dr Farooq Abdullah while attending the gurpurab samagam highlighted the sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh for the weak and downtrodden and asked everyone to follow virtuous path shown by the guru so that we can transform ourselves into an egalitarian society. Dr Abdullah also said that he always stand by the genuine demands and needs of the sikh community and will always work for the betterment of the sikh community.
Sudershan Singh Wazir Chairman Sikh United Front J&K spoke and threw light on the life of Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj.
He highlighted that Guru Gobind Singh fought 21 battles and won all of them. Wazir added that for the sake of humankind Guru Gobind Singh sacrificed his whole family including his four sons.
Wazir said that Sikhs have always been on forefront whenever the country needed as he talked about the contribution of Late Dr Manmohan Singh former PM during 1990s when he saved Indian economy which was on the verge of collapse.
Wazir also talked about restoring statehood to J&K as promised by the PM and Home Minister in Parliament of India after assembly elections in J&K.
On behalf of Mahant Manjit Singh, Wazir thanked Dr. Farooq Abdullah and highlighted his cordial relations with Sikh community and his role in the establishment of Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology in 1999.
Other political leaders from various parties including Raman Bhalla Working President J&K JKPCC, Dr Narinder Singh MLA, Vikram Randhawa MLA, Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu Province NC, Dr. Mustafa Kamal also greeted people on the occasion of Gurpurab.
Mahant Manjit Singh of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch, while addressing the Sangat, asked the people to follow the preachings of Guru Gobind Singh who sacrificed all his family to save humanity and stress upon Sikh community to adopt the path shown by Guru Gobind Singh in every field of life to become true and pure Sikh for serving the poor and needy people in the society and who work for the betterment of the country and become Amritdhari and come to the field of education.
All human beings are creation of one God so all should be treated equally irrespective of caste color, creed, religion and region. Mahant said that all parents should keep close watch on their children to save them from drugs and other evil deeds.

Manmohan Singh Chairman Gurdwara Singh Sabha Gole Gujral Jammu, Kulwant Singh, Kultar Singh, Paramjeet Singh Ex Corporator, Prof. Yudhveer Singh Ex Corporator, Charanveer Singh (Laad).
