35 States/UTs to take part in 68th National School Games Judo U-17 Boys

JAMMU: Thirty State/UT teams have already reached Jammu while a total of 35 teams have registered and are expected to participate in the 68th National School Games in the discipline of Judo U-17 Boys, the opening ceremony of which will be held at MA Stadium here tomorrow.
This was informed by the Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara through an official statement issued on Wednesday. Tara said that all the requisite arrangements have been made for smooth and successful conduct of the mega event. “We have finalized all the requisite arrangements made for a comfortable stay of the players at the lodging centres, their transportation facilities and the facilities at the venues. Strict directions have been served to the Conveners and the Officials of various committees with regard to performing their duties perfectly and holding the event in a most befitting manner to set a benchmark,” maintained Mr Tara, who is also the Chairman of the event. He said Judo U-17 Boys National is part of the historic series of 68th National School Games in four disciplines of sports including Judo, Fencing, Wushu and Football, adding that the Judo and Wushu events will be held at Indoor Sports Complex Bhagwati Nagar, while Fencing competitions will be conducted at Gymnasium Hall University of Jammu, and the Football Tournament will be organised at Sainik School Football Ground, Nagrota Jammu.
Meanwhile, out of the expected 35 teams, 30 teams have already reached Jammu which include Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, IPSC, IBSSO, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, KV Sanghathan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Vidhya Bharathi, West Bengal, CBSE, while Chhattisgarh, CBSE WSO, Jharkhand, Navodaya Vidyalaya Sanghathan and Tripura have not reported yet.
