JAMMU: A man was booked in ”abetment to suicide” case after his wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan at her in-laws residence in Gangyal area.
“A woman identified as Parul Sharma (33), wife of Rajneesh Sharma, resident of Gangyal on Tuesday morning found hanging at her in-laws residence,” police said, Parul was working as lecturer in mathematics.
They said that the family members and relatives of the deceased alleged that she has been “murdered” and demanded registration of case against her in-laws.
To lodge protest, the family blocked the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway this evening and disrupted the traffic demanding action, police said.
“We have booked the husband in ‘abetment to suicide’ case (Section 306 of RPC) and started the investigations,” police said adding that the protestors later dispersed.
