JAMMU: Reposing faith in the dogma of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP), over 30 youth from various wards of Jammu joined Panthers Party in the presence of Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP, here on Wednesday.
The contingent of the fresh entrants being introduced by Raj Kumar and Soni Sambyal were welcomed in the party fold by Gagan Pratap Singh, General Secretary Young Panthers.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised two crore jobs per year to the youth of the country and termed 2015-16 as an “year of the youth” on several occasions but regretted that the recent statistics had revealed that the employment rate in the country had dropped to nearly 70 per cent which was all time low.
He divulged that the Saffron rant of Achey Din had proved to be hoax in the State as well with the new Recruitment policy sprinkling salts on the wounds of the young people.
He said that the obnoxious policy tantamount to deny 60 per cent to 70 per cent of the salaries fixed for a particular post to the new recruit for the first five years, and with the new recruits proposed to be given less than the half of the actual salary meant for the job would mean a grave injustice to them amounting to worse kind of Human Rights violations. Accusing the State Government for treating the youth of the State and Jammu region in particular as mere expendables, Harsh highlighted the miserable plight of thousands of DRWs and casual workers engaged in PHE, PWD, M and RE, I and FC, Tourism, Health, Agriculture, Forest and other Departments who had been languishing in open for several months demanding release of long-pending wages for more than two years, enhancement of salaries and regularisation of their services but the BJP partnered State Government had paid no heed to their sufferings.
Reckoning that seething anger among the youth could explode any moment like a catastrophe and cause irreparable damages, Singh maintained that highly qualified youth including the doctorates engaged in the educational institutions as contractual lecturers were being paid paltry Rs. 7,000 per month in proportion to the quantum of work assigned to them. Moreover, the ReT teachers working in schools all across the State were divested of their salaries for the last six months adding to their woes.
Lambasting the PSC and SSB for partisan approach towards the Jammu aspirants, Harsh inculpated the recruitment agencies for biased selection process in which substantial preference was given to the aspirants from Kashmir.
While drawing the attention of the youth, he revealed that in the recent selection of Assistant Professors in various disciplines, it was reported that 76 per cent share went to Kashmir and the rest 24 per cent was put in Jammu’s kitty. He asked the sleeping BJP to ponder over the grave concern of the Jammu youth by vociferously raking up the discriminatory issue or else get ready to face the music of their fury.
Prominent among those who joined Party included Vishav Sumbria, Rajat Dogra, Kushant Goria, Sanjay Kumar, Sanjay Kotwal, Shubham, Vikas Salathia, Vikas Sharma, Akash Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Simranjeet Singh, Janam and Amit Kumar.
