Srinagar: Three militants were killed on Thursday in an encounter with security forces in Tral area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir, police said.
A vehicle checking party of security forces was fired upon by militants travelling in a vehicle in Tral at around 7 PM, which was retaliated, triggering off an encounter, Inspector General of Police Kashmir A G Mir told PTI.
“In the ensuing gun battle, three militants were killed. The identity of the slain militants is being ascertained,” Mir said.
He said an SLR rifle, a carbine, a pistol and some hand grenades were recovered from the scene of encounter. (PTI)
