JAMMU: Police on Thursday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered three Kg poppy straw from their possession.
Reports said that, Police team of Police Station Satwari led by ASI Mohd Akram laid a Naka at Satwari, signaled a motor-cycle rider along with a pillion rider coming from RS Pura towards Jammu. Both seeing the police party tried to escape however the naka party apprehended them alongwith the motor cycle bearing registration No JK02BH/ 8262.
They arrested have been identified as Mehmood Shah son of Maqsood Shah, resident of Chak Tara and Rohit Kumar alias Binny son of Satish Kumar, resident of Darsopur Miran Sahib. During the checking of the vehicle about three Kgs poppy straw was recovered from their possession.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 49/16 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Satwari. The recovery was made by ASI Mohd Akram and Inspector Manjeet SHO Police Station Satwari under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachin Gupta, SP South Shahzad Ahmed Salaria.
