JAMMU: Three drug peddlers were arrested along with contraband of poppy straw in Ramban district.
“During a routine checking, a Haryana registration number car on way from Kashmir to Jammu was intercepted this afternoon at Ramsoo,” Muneer Ahmad, SHO Ramsoo said. He said that on seeing the police party, the car driver did not stop but after a hot chase, the vehicle was nabbed at Panthial Chowk. During frisking, a polythene bag containing three shoe boxes of branded company were seized, which were containing the contraband of poppy straw (Bhukki), said the SHO. He said that all three persons identified as Ravi Kumar, Sandeep Kumar and Sandeep Kumar were arrested on the spot while the contraband weighing 66.5-kg was seized on the spot.
A case under NDPS was registered and investigations started, he added.
