SRINAGAR: Acting tough against drug menace, District Police Awantipora arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 56 pockets of brown sugar from their possession.
Acting on specific input, a police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora intercepted an auto load carrier bearing registration number JK05A-9199 at Awantipora. On search 56 pockets of brown sugar was recovered. Three persons namely Mehraj-ud-Din Wani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani, resident of Hamdania Colony Bemina, Mohammad Ayoub Fergadi, son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Fruit Mandi Bemina and Mohammad Rafiq Kaloo, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Rah Colony Noorbagh, Srinagar who were boarding the vehicle were arrested. A case FIR number 204/2016 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act was registered against them and investigation was taken up.
