‘2nd Vision Jammu and Kashmir’ exhibition concludes

JAMMU: A three-day exhibition titled ‘2nd Vision Jammu & Kashmir’ concluded here on Sunday. The exhibition received a lot of appreciation from the students and masses who have visited the exhibition.
Aimed at promoting science, technology, research and development and our cultural heritage, various Government Departments like Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Power Grid Corporation of India, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), J and K Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Building Material and Promotion Council, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), The Marine Products Exports Development Authority (MPEDA), Ministry of Railways, Coir Board and many more were the major exhibitors sharing the knowledge, experiences and delivering interactive sessions and quizzes.
Students of various schools, State and Central Government departments were acquainted with scientific models and literature. “The aim is to bridge the gap between science and technology and popularising it amongst the masses. Also, the event is targeted towards socio- economic and sustainable growth of the country” said Anand Pal, Director, Vision Secretariat. “The event focused on bringing benefits of latest innovations and research schemes”, he added.
A prize distribution ceremony on the last day witnessed presence of various dignitaries where Priya Sethi, former Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture, Anil Gupta, Executive Director, PowerGrid Corporation of India and Shafat Sultan, CEO, JAKEDA encouraged the participants and students. PowerGrid Corporation of India was felicitated with the award for best display of their activities.
Attracting youth and others towards different aspects of science, this three days long exhibition served its purpose by giving glimpses of experiments and researches going on in the displayed fields.
The event highlighted government policies and programmes for the masses who were encouraged to take part and grasp the awareness programmes offered on the sector like, industries, health and family welfare, Indian System of Medicines, education, Research and Development, Science and Technology, Power and Energy, agriculture, horticulture, rural technologies and empowerment.
