231 students offered jobs in Job Fair

JAMMU: Gulzar Group of Institutions organized Job Fair with collaboration of Board of Apprenticeship Training, North India and Directorate of Technical Education, Jammu and Kashmir, here on Monday.
More than 1,500 students from the different colleges of the State participated in it. The students from diverse streams were offered jobs based on written test, group discussions and personal interview as per the criteria of the companies.
More than 25 prominent national and international brands like Videocon Telecom, Yarik International, MG Industries, Mendley Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Serco Global Services and many more came for selection of the students and offered Jobs at packages of Rs 2.50 lakh per annum.
The event was inaugurated by Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Secretary, Technical Education, J and K and Anoop Bansal, Director, Gulzar Group of Institutions.
The company’s representatives briefed the company profile, which was followed by the GD and written test for students to check the domain knowledge. After the initial screening from the written test and Personal interview 231 Students were selected by them.
During interaction with Khursheed Ahmed said, “We need to provide the students good human values and positive attitude apart from technical skills, so that India can become a prosperous and peaceful nation. If we want to prosper, the only way forward for us is to have positive minded and skillful youth.”
Anoop Bansal, Director Gulzar Group of Institutions, said that this Job Fair was one of its kinds as the ranges of jobs offered were for students of Diploma Holders. He further added that the Gulzar Group shall continue to provide such employment opportunities to the students in the region, so as to make them contribute in the development of the country and promised to organize again such job fest soon. Ankit Bansal, HoD Computer Department also shared his views at this occasion.
