’20,000 MTs of garbage removed from Srinagar’

SRINAGAR: About 20,000 Metric Tons of garbage was removed and disposed off from Srinagar city during the past 18 days. In a statement issued by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, it was stated that the sanitation drive was carried out throughout the city including hospitals, Government and private institutions and other areas.
The statement said that 1500 dead animal carcasses have been removed and disposed off scientifically while 72 dewatering stations have been made operational in the areas like Kursoo, Raghbagh, Jawaher Nagar, Bemina and Qamawari besides putting into service mobile pumping stations.
