Jammu: Two persons have been arrested and 35 kilograms of poppy straw has been seized from them from two separate places in Jammu and Kashmir, the police said today.
As per the details, a party of Police Station Chenani led by Insp Paramjit Singh SHO intercepted a truck (JK-02-BQ-2783) and during checking recovered 20 kg poppy straw hidden in the inbuilt spaces in the cabin of truck. Driver of the truck identified as Kulwant Singh son of Aasa Singh resident of Musa Chack Teh RS Pura Distt Jammu was arrested and a case vide FIR No 04/18 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Chenani .
Another man was arrested from the bus stand area here after 15 kg of poppy straw was seized from him, the spokesperson said.
