2 J&K men in National Wushu team

JAMMU: Kuldeep Handoo and Rajinder Singh of Jammu and Kashmir have been selected in the 28-member Indian squad heading for the Ninth Asian Wushu Championship to be held at Taiwan in Chinese Taipie from 30th August to 6th September. While Kuldeep Handoo has been made Chief Coach of Sanshou event, Rajinder Singh shall compete in 90 kg category in the same event. Both these J and K men belong to Jammu and Kashmir Police. Important to mention here that Rajinder Singh was selected in the Indian team considering his Bronze medal in the Fifth Pars Cup held at Iran last year. Surya Bhanu and Kuldeep Handoo have also been selected for the Eighth Sanda World Cup to be held at Xian, China from 1st to 7th November, 2016.
Prior to the Asian Championship, the Indian Wushu team attended month long foreign exposure training at Shandong (China) from 1st to 3oth July. Besides Rajinder Singh and Kuldeep Handoo, Surya Bhanu Partap Singh was also there in the training camp.
The office bearers of Wushu Association of J and K, S Owais, H.K Lohia, Yogesh Sawhney, Vijay Saraf, Ranjeet Kalra, Deepak Handa and Sunil Sharma congratulated the Indian contingent and Kuldeep Handoo and Rajinder Singh for their selection in the Indian team and wished best of luck for the events.
