REASI: Police on Sunday arrested two persons who were indulging in illicit distillation and recovered two bottle illicit Desi liquor and 500 litres Lahan from their houses respectively. According to a report, on specific information that one Kapoor Singh son of Munshi Ram resident of Tutay Da Bagh Sangar Tehsil Pouni was indulging in making/selling of illicit liquor, a team of police personnel headed by Sub Inspector Jasvinder Choudhary, SHO Police Station Ransoo conducted a raid in village Tutay Da Bagh Sangar and recovered one bottle of illicit Desi liquor and 200 litres Lahan along with material using for preparation of illicit liquor from the possession of Kapoor Singh. The accused person was arrested, the recovered liquor seized and Lahan destroyed on the spot. A case vide FIR No. 9/2016 under section 48-E Excise Act was registered at Police Station Ransoo against the said accused person.
Meanwhile, an information was received through a reliable source that a person namely Ashok Singh son of Munshi Ram resident of Tutay Da Bagh Sangar is indulging in making/selling of illicit liquor,on which police party raided and recovered all utensils for making liquor, 300 ltr Lahan and one bottle Desi liquor. The accused was arrested and 300 litre Lahan destroyed on spot. A case vide FIR No.10/2016 under section 48 (E) Excise Act was registered.
