KATRA: 18th Shiv Khori Kesari Annual Vishal Dangal is scheduled to be held at Government High School Ransoo the Base Camp of the Shiv
Khori Shrine in Pouni Block of district Reasi on 8th March, 2016.
The wrestling meet is being organised by J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with Department of J and K Tourism and Shiv Khori Dangal Committee as part of annual three days historic Maha Shivratri Mela at Shiv Khori, from 6th to 8th March, 2016.
The decision regarding organising this Vishal Dangal was taken in a meeting held at Reasi under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Sushma Chuauhan.
Others who attended the meeting were President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director Tourism Katra Ashima Sher, Shashi Kumar Gupta, President Shiv Khori Mandali Katra, Executive officer Shri Shiv Khori Board which is also Mela officer Mahesh Sharma and District Youth Services and Sports Officer Dr. Swarn Singh Chib.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, requested Director Tourism Jammu R.K Verma for granting Rs. 75,000 for 18th Shiv Khori Vishal Dangal 2016.
Sharma said the winner of 1st bout will be awarded with the Shiv Khori Kesari 2016 title in addition to the traditional Silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta in addition to cash prize. The event will be held on Mud Akhara and the decision of the referee would be final in every bout.
Sanjeev Kumar Sharma has been nominated as Chairman of the Technical Committee. The members of the Shiv Khori Dangal Committee helping to conduct this Vishal Dangal are Sarpanch Kewal Krishan Sharma (President), Sarpanch Paul Chand Sharma, Sarpanch Bharat Singh, Romesh Chander Kholi, Sarpanch Swarn Singh, Bhagwan Singh, Mohan Lal, Romesh Chander Sharma, Sansar Chand, Tilak Raj Kholi, Kapoor Singh, Jugal Keshore Banathia, Capt. Lehar Singh (Retd.), Swarn Singh, Deepak Wazir, Dheeraj Kesar and Murli Dhar (Munna).
Meanwhile the interested wrestlers of Jammu region or outside the State can still submit their entries to participate to Shiv Kumar Sharma (94191-61880) and Sanjeev Kumar Sharma (94191-16019). Giving of the event detail Sharma said that nearly 65 to 70 wrestlers from various parts of State and outside besides, BSF, J and K Police and army will take part.
