Kashmir has been through an unrelenting tragic turmoil since 1987 and political poachers have been claiming loaves out of the terrible misery of the Kashmiris. The sudden demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on 7th January brought to focus the admirable administrative attributes, steely determination and concern for principles of Mehbooba Mufti. She was a source of strength for her father. Her term as CM is bringing forth admirable all-embracing initiatives, shunning of traditional taboos, upholding the dignity of Kashmiris, and maintaining political status quo in the State.
