180 bags of cement for Army supply seized; one held

JAMMU: Jammu Police on Sunday unearthed a racket wherein 80 bags of cement meant for supply to Army’s 3-Engineering Unit, Leh was being unloaded and sold to an unscrupulous trader at Pouni Chak.
The driver of the truck (JK02AH-1369) Jagjeet Singh, son of Santokh Singh, resident of Ajeet Colony Camp Jammu has been arrested.
Police said the Shree brand cement was being repacked in high quality branded bags like Ambuja and Banduarg for resale in the market.
A police tem led by IC/Police Post Pouni Chak Sub Inspector Vikram Manhas and Domana Inspector Mohammed Qasim under the supervision of Jammu Rural SP M L Kaith conducted the raid.
During the investigations, it was ascertained that the cement was loaded at Pathankot for being delivered at Leh. The accused person was found making different cement brands from original brand of cement. In this regard FIR 401/14 under section 406/109 RPC has been registered in Police Station Domana.
