UDHAMPUR: Joint Action Committee (General Category ) unit of Udhampur under the leadership of Dr. Viney Gupta held public meeting at Mahajan Sabha Udhampur for the awareness of general category people on the issue of reservation in promotions.
During the meeting the public was made aware about the ill effects of the present reservation policy on the downtrodden families. The present reservation policy is just nourishing the kids of already economically sound doctors, engineers, bureaucrats, MLAs ,ministers who are Crorepatis, and Lakhpatis but benefit is not reaching to the kids of labourers, farmers and other manual workers.
The members of JAC and heads of various organizations like Brahmin Sabha, Mahajan Sabha and Rajput Sabha also lamented on the criminal silence of general category law makers on such prestigious issue. “They are answerable whether the benefit of reservation should reach to the really down trodden families or others who are earning crores of rupees. In such a way these law makers are doing injustice to such weak and privileged families. The JAC welcomes the SC/ ST law makers if they support the weak and privilege classes without any caste and creed. This will be a great Sharndajali for Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar who fought in his life for equality” they said.
Speaking on occasion Dr. Vinay Gupta emphasised that reservation in promotion will never be accepted by general category people as it is creating a mental agony among the general masses besides a huge gap between rich and poor. It is killing seniority of General category and their talent, he said adding such practice is never in favour of any state or country for real development. So the Govt. is requested to honour the verdict of High Court Jammu who gave its decision after 11 years by observing all facts from both the sides” Vinay maintained.
The prominent persons who spoke on the occasion were Rajesh Sharma Tilak Raj Gupta, Vinod Raina, Romesh Chander, Anoop khajuria, Mayank sharma, Rajinder Gupta and Bharat Bhushan.
