JAMMU: President, Association of Small and Tiny Industries (Regd.), Jammu Province, Harbinder Singh expressed concern with regard to various problems being faced by the industrial units in Jammu province.
Addressing the media persons here on Monday, Singh said that the present PDP-BJP Coalition Government failed to address the genuine grievances of Small and
Micro Industrial Units which are facing threat of survival due to the non implementation of industrial policies framed
by the government from time to time.
Quoting an example of J and K Medical Supplies Corporation Limited, Singh stated that Managing Director of the Corporation had put certain conditions in the tender documents which can never be fulfilled by the Small and Micro Industrial Units.
Earlier, he said, the Small and Micro Industrial Units were exempted from these conditions and the industrial units were required to produce a certificate from the DIC with regard to existence of the unit and it being in running condition as on date.
“Said conditions were easily fulfilled by the industrial units but the new conditions can never be fulfilled by the Small and Micro Industrial Units as these are beyond their capabilities,” he said.
He warned the government that in case the genuine grievances of the Small and Micro Industrial Units are not redressed at the earliest
association members will hold agitation.
Captain V.K Duggal (Chairman), Advocate Ashok Basotra (Legal Advisor), Ajay Jagotra (Sr. Vice President) and Shantanu Gupta (General Secretary) were also present in the press conference.
