BJP exhibits lack of spine: Harsh
STATE TIMES NEWS
UDHAMPUR: Lambasting BJP for taking one somersault after the other over Jammu related issues as well as its own solemn pledges, former Minister and Chairman JKNPP Harsh Dev Singh and today said that the Saffron Party had fully revealed its true colours within a short period of 18 months. He said that the saffron leaders who, while in opposition, groaned on trivial issues with staff resistance to PDP’s philosophy had taken one u-turn after the other in quick succession only to play the role of a junior partner in PDP Government.
While addressing public meetings in village Sulan, Prey and Badhal of Ramnagar Constituency, Harsh expressed grave concern over Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti’s statement in Assembly declining separate townships for migrant KPs, Sainik colonies as also her refusal to give five Marla plots to border dwellers and the criminal acquiescence of the BJP leaders who though present in the Assembly refused to agitate.
He regretted that surrender on the issue of Sainik colony, KP Town ships in Kashmir and on provision of 5 Marla plot’s to border dwellers comes close on the heels of an earlier obnoxious move of the government announcing vacation of lands from various places under the occupation of Army. He said that refusal to hoist the Tricolour in NIT Srinagar and restraining the JKNPP leaders’ Tiranga rally provided other glaring instances of sell out by the BJP on its professed promises and other signature slogans.
On the local issues of the Ramnagar Constituency, Harsh regretted that the developmental activities had come to a grinding halt with worst condition of existing roads coupled with acute water, power and Ration cases in various villages. He further expressed concern over the failure of the PMGSY Department to start black topping of Ramnagar-Katwalat Road, Sulan-Kela Road for which Rs. 454 lakhs and Rs. 198 lakhs respectively had been approved under Phase VIII of PMGSY during 2012-13.
