RAMBAN : Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Aijaz on Thursday convened a high level meeting to review the arrangements made for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra, 2016.
Discussions were held regarding security, law and order, traffic control, accommodation, healthcare, availability of ambulance, drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation and road maintenance among others. DC directed the concerned officers to complete all necessary arrangements well in time for the Yatra.
DC directed the ADC to instruct Langer owners for ensuring hygiene, sanitation at langer sites and maintain quality of eatables. DC also stressed on ensuring adequate fire safety arrangements at langer sites.
DC directed XEn PWD to provide makeshift toilets at designated places and accommodation sites for the Yatra. The Traffic Department was instructed to formulate a plan to regulate the traffic flow and manage the additional influx of traffic.
DC Ramban also reviewed security arrangements made enroute NHA1. DC directed the SRTC to station their recovery vans and other required machinery at identified locations for timely action to meet any emergency.
He directed the concerned departments to maintain close coordination with Yatra Control Room for providing timely services to the Yatris.
SSP, Ramban Randeep Kumar, SSP Traffic Sanjay Kotwal ADC, Babu Ram, Dy. Commandant CRPF, Surinder Singh Rana, CPO, Parshotam Kumar, SDMs, Deputy Director F and E Services, XEns PWD, PHE,PDD district officers of different departments and officers of all security agencies, representatives of national highway four lanning project and NGO were present in the meeting.
