RAJOURI: Police on Tuesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 17 bovines from the clutches of smugglers.
According to a report, Rajouri Police led by In-Charge Police Post Chingus SI Mohd Rafiq on intervening night of 13th -14th June 2016, on a specific information laid Naka at Link Road Chatyari, Chingus.
During Naka checking, police rescued 17 bovines which were being smuggled by foot from Rajouri to Srinagar via Thanamandi-Mughal Road without any permission. Bovine smugglers fled away from the spot taking the advantage of darkness.
A case vide FIR Nos.361/2016, 362/2016, 363/2016, 364/2016, under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA has been registered at Police Station Rajouri and investigation is going on.
