DODA: Ahmed Ali’s all round performance with 53 runs and one wicket guided Uttar Pradesh team to register win in the ongoing All India 12th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2016 at Sports Stadium Doda.
The tournament is being organised by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
In today’s match, Uttar Pradesh thrashed Islamia Cricket Club (ICC) Banihal by seven wickets.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, ICC Banihal set a target of 128 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Shakeel was the top scorer with 29 while Aamir added 20 runs to the total. For Uttar Pradesh, Manoj Kashyap and Vishvendra Chand shared two wickets each whereas Ahmed Ali picked one.
In reply, Uttar Pradesh team managed to chase the target in 10.5 overs for the loss of three wickets. Ahmed Ali played a match winning inning of 53 runs followed by Vishvendra Choudhary, who added 30 runs to the total.
For ICC Banihal, Basit and Naveed shared one wicket each. Ahmed Ali was declared as Man of the Match for his best all round performance and was given prize by Chief Guest District Youth President BJP Doda Raj Kumar.
The match was officiated by Aayush Sharma, Bharat Jajuriya, Rinku Bhaduria and Ashok Sharma.
