SRINAGAR: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma on Saturday informed the Legislative Assembly that as per new policy, the government has engaged 1,674 persons as against 3,551 cases received in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Departments against land donation for various schemes.
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice of G.M Saroori, the Minister informed that as many as 23,711 persons have been engaged as Casual Labourers/Need based/community participation workers in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Departments from time to time after January, 1994. The said information stand submitted to the Finance Department for their regularisation as per the policy to be framed by the government, said the minister.
