Administeration’s apathy towards ex-serviceman
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to highlight the problems and apathy of an ex-serviceman. How they are treated and what kind of life they are forced to live.
I, Mohd. Qazim, an ex-serviceman have served army for more than 30 years and now when I am back to my village I am facing hardships to get electric connection. I have approached concerned minister of PDD, Chief Engineer PDD but all in vain. The Executive Engineer Elect M and RE Division Rajouri in this connection had sanctioned a ST pole but it has not been installed so far and the excuse is that the said pole costs Rs 12,000 and department has no funds. It is pertinent to mention here that thousands of ST poles are lying near Nallahs, houses and along road sides in rural areas.
Moreover, there is no water connection. In 1996 when I was in service, at that very time I have asked for water connection but till now it has not been installed and I am devoid of the facility. Both PDD and PHE Departments are creating trouble for residents of far flung areas by not providing the said facilities.
It is therefore, requested that an enquiry may kindly be conducted in this matter and strict action taken against the defaulters.
