170 bovines rescued, four smugglers held

SURANKOTE: Surankote police achieved a major success by rescuing 170 bovines which were being smuggled via Mugal road and arrested four smugglers.
The bovine smugglers have been identified as Abdul Rehman, son of Sultan Mohd, Mohd Basheer, son of Abdul Sattar, both residents of Bhooni Khet Surankote, Farid Ahmed, son of Mohd Shabir of Seri Khwaja and Mohd Rashed, son of Mir Mohammad of Sangla Poonch.
Police said that cases under FIRs 53/16, 54/16, 55/16 and 56/16 all under sections 188 of RPC and 3 PC Act have been registered at Surankote police station.
On specific information received last night, a special Naka was raised by  SDPO Surankote Reyaz Tantray and SHO Surankote Charanjeet Singh at Poshana Mughal Road. SSP Poonch J.S Johar has already directed all officers to keep a close vigil to thwart any attempt of bovine smuggling from the area.
