JAMMU: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat on Sunday released calendar (Panchang) of Vikrami Samvat-2073, Yugand 5118 published by the Akhil Bhartiya Sanskar Bharti Jammu and Kashmir, a social organisation at a function held at the Press Club here.
The calendar (Panchang) depicts the detail of festivals and other important events being observed in the country as per Vikrami Samvat.
Lauding the efforts of the organisation for bringing out such an informative calendar, the minister said that it will help in reviving and preserving the rich traditions and heritage of the Indian civilisation which is need of the hour. He said that social organisations must play a role for promoting the Indian culture and traditions so that the younger generation carry forward the same. He said that western culture has influenced the Indian society hugely which does not auger well for the posterity and needs concrete steps to keep alive the rich values.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included, Mahant Ram Darbar Temple Peer Kho, Swami Shivenduji, Members of the Organization Dr. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Puran Chand Sharma, Payare lal Savedeshi, Dineshji from Press Club Jammu, Neeru Sharma and Ajay Bharti.
