KATRA/RAMBAN: Reasi Police on Wednesday arrested a youth with 55 pouches of liquor.
According to a report, a police team led by SI Vikas Jasrotia, In-charge Police Post Kakryal acting on a specific input, laid a Naka at Kakryal and intercepted a youth. During checking, the police team recovered 55 pouches of J and K Excise Liquor from the possession of Mahinder Kumar son of Rattan Chand resident of Kakryal Tehsil Katra. The accused person was arrested and pouches were seized.
A case vide FIR No. 59/2016 under Section 48-A Excise Act, was registered at Police Station Katra.
Meanwhile, during Naka checking at Bus Stand Ramban, police team of Police Station Ramban stopped one person for checking identified as Prabhat Singh son of Raghunath resident of Darli Dundhrath Tehsil Rajgarh, District Ramban. During checking, one carton consisting 19 pouches and 7 bottles of JK whisky were recovered from his possession, which he was trying to smuggle in Rajgarh area to earn illegitimate profit. Accordingly, poly packs and bottles of liquor were seized and the accused has been arrested and booked under relevant sections at Police Station Ramban. The arrest was made by police party led by Inspr. Pardeep Sharma, SHO Police Station Ramban.
