JAMMU: Infuriated by the aftermath of the clash taking ugly turns in NIT Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party staged a massive protest against the government for cane charging the nationalist students on Tuesday in Kashmir who raised pro-India slogans on the eve of semi finals of T20 World Cup inside the institute campus
Scores of Panthers activists along with parents of the student victims led by Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP and Yashpal Kundal State President Young Panthers assembled at Exhibition Ground, here and raised anti-government slogans.
Flaying the BJP’s slogan of ‘zero tolerance’ against the anti-nationals falling flat, Harsh vociferously condemned the ugly episode of clash inside the NIT Srinagar campus when certain anti-national elements celebrated India’s defeat by the Caribbean in the match.
He questioned the BJP that why those anti national elements were not booked under sedition and where was its nationalistic character when they were allowed to go scot free. He sought the invocation of Sec 124-A (Sedition) and Sec 121 against the offenders relating to waging / attempting/ abetting to wage a war against State without any further delay.
Harsh appealed to all the Jammuites including students, shopkeepers, traders, social organizations all sects of civil society to unite and come forward to support call for “Jammu Bandh” on Thursday, 7th April against the inhuman lathicharge on the student fraternity in Kashmir.
He cautioned Union MHRD minister Smriti Irani to take the cognizance of the situation in Srinagar and assert the State government to take stringent action against the culprits.
