157 Kanals prime land retrieved at Samba

SAMBA: District Administration Samba today conducted an elaborated anti- encroachment drive at village Palth and retrieved 157.15 Kanals prime land from encroachers.
The anti-encroachment drive team, under direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rohit Khajuria, pressed JCB machines into service and dismantled several concrete structures including sheds, pavements, boundary walls, RCC structures and temporary sheds. Attempts of changing nature of land were also foiled by administration.
Giving details, the concerned officials informed that out of 157 Kanals state land, 50.5 Kanals was transferred under Roshni Act and possessed by some influential persons, while remaining 107.10 Kanals falling under Khasra no. 70 & 94 was other than that of Roshni Act. The illegal entries from the records have already been cancelled. The team comprised of Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jitender Mishra, Tehsildar Samba Rampal, ASI Balbir Singh, besides other officials of Revenue and Police.
