15,000 bank accounts opened under PMJDY

RAMBAN: About 15,000 new bank accounts have been opened in Ramban District under Pradhan Mantri JanDhan Yojana.
This was informed during a special awareness programme organised by Directorate of Field Publicity Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Government of India.
District Development Commissioner, Farooq Shah Bukhari presided over the function.
The programme focused on three national programmes viz Pradhan Mantri JanDhan Yojna, Swach Bharat Abhiyan and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan. Lauding the role of Field Publicity Unit in enhancing awareness and public involvement in social cause District Development Commissioner urged the participants to actively participate in achieving 100 per cent target in the district under the schemes. Panchyat members, Sarpanchs, Anganwari workers besides general public attended the day long programme.
Earlier Assistant Director Field Publicity Mushtaq Ahmed Tantray highlighted objectives of the programme.
ACD Arvind Kirwani, District Panchyat Officer G.H Krinpal and representatives of banks including Ilyas Wani –LBO also spoke on the occasion.
