mapJammu:- Members of a body representing Kashmiri Pandit community, who held a sit-in protest in front of Raj Bhawan here, have met Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra and sought his intervention for redressal of their demand for filling up job vacancies.

The activists of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) yesterday sought the Governor’s intervention for immediate filling up of the remaining 4000 posts out of sanctioned 6000 jobs under Prime Minister’s Special Employment Package for Kashmiri Migrants, including the selection of pending list of teachers and 221 writ petitioners, an official spokesman said.

The Governor gave a patient hearing to their demands and directed the Chief Secretary to immediately hold a meeting to resolve all the pending issues which are thwarting the speedy filling up of all available posts for Kashmiri migrants, the spokesman said.

The Governor will review the matter with the Chief Secretary and all officers concerned in a meeting to be held at the Secretariat on January 27, the official said.
