14 bovines rescued, smuggler nabbed

RAJOURI: Police on Wednesday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 14 bovines and arresting a smuggler in Rajouri District.
According to a report, Rajouri Police led by SHO Police Station Rajouri Inspr. Chaman Gorkha during the intervening night of 11th -12th October 2016 on an specific information laid Nakas at Darhali Bridge. During Naka checking, police seized one Tata Mobile (JK11B-3316) and rescued four bovines which were on way from Rajouri to Srinagar via Thanamandi-Mughal Road without any permission and arrested one bovine smuggler namely Ghulam Mustafa son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Thanamandi. A case vide FIR Nos.645/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Rajouri.
Similarly, SHO Police Station Manjakote Inspr. Mohd Younis on a specific information laid a Naka at Manjakote and seized a Tata Mobile (JK03E-4887) and rescued 10 bovines. However, bovine smugglers fled away from the spot. A case vide FIR No. 90/2016 under section 188 RPC 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Manjakote.
