DODA: To boost sports activities in the region and to provide platform to the local cricketers, the Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda is going to conduct All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship from 29th June 2017 at Sports Stadium Doda.
This was stated by Patron YSCC Doda Manzoor Ahmed Batt while talking to media persons here on Sunday.
Batt said that in this tournament, teams from around 20 states of the country besides teams from Jammu and Kashmir will participate.
Further he said that the club is also trying to bring in some international clubs for this tournament for which negotiation is going on as during the past 2-3 years some clubs from Bangladesh and Afghanistan also participated in our events.
Chairman YSCC Naseer Khora said that it has been decided that the matches of first round would be played on knock out basis while for second round, the matches will be played on league basis. He added that the matches would be officiated by Professional Umpires from outside J&K besides the score of matches would be available live on www.cric4u and www.crichq.com.
Meanwhile Chairman Gufran Tournaments Prof Zaheer Abass Hashmi said that YSCC Doda is providing a platform to the youth of this region and State to harness their capabilities in the field of sports and explore their talent.
Hashmi further said that this event would not only boost the sports activities but also promote the tourism sector in the State.
The Young Star Cricket Club Doda thanked all the sponsoring agencies who supported Gufran Tournaments so far and particularly thanked people of Chenab region and State for extending their cooperation in the past. He hoped that they will also provide full support for making this even successful.
