Ganga inaugurates two-day Volleyball Tournament

SAMBA: The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga on Wednesday inaugurated Open Challenge Volleyball Tournament at village Gho Brahmama in Vijaypur.
The two-day tournament is being organised by the Volleyball Sports Club, Gho Brahmana.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganga enjoined upon the youth to get associated with the sports activities regularly as it was vital for their mental and physical development.
He said government was committed to create adequate sports infrastructure to provide sports facilities to the youth of the State.
“Sports activities are pivotal for channelising the energy of youth in a positive direction besides keeping them physically and mentally fit”, he added.
The minister asked the youth to come forward and participate in such tournaments and in sports activities being held at various levels.
Industrial units established at IGC Samba are also helping financially in organising the tournament under ‘Corporate Social Responsibly’ scheme.
In all, 22 teams of the area are participating in the tournament.
Among others, General Manager DIC Samba, Krishan Lal, concerned officials, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area and large number of people were present on the occasion.
