JAMMU: Urban Transport Environment Improvement Committee (UTEIC) headed by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal visited ongoing commercial projects already cleared by the committee.
While inspecting the two hotel projects namely Hotel Skyline at Narwal and Hotel owned by Raman Gupta at Bikram Chowk Jammu, the Municipal Commissioner Mandeep Kour was directed to take measurements of the buildings to ascertain the construction is raised as per the approved plan.
The committee also visited the multiplex project at Nawabad, Akhnoor Road. It was observed that the construction was raised in violation of the setback norms.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the Municipal Commissioner to ensure the violations are removed. He also directed the Chief Engineers of PDD and PHE Departments respectively not to issue electric and water connections in favour of any commercial projects unless the completion certificate is issued by the JMC.
The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by the Municipal Commissioner Jammu, Vice Chairman JDA, IG Police, DC Jammu, Chief Engineer R&B and other senior officers.
