JAMMU: Excise Department on Sunday arrested two bootleggers and recovered 120 kilograms of Lahan, which was later destroyed on the spot.
To curb the menace of illegal distillation and sale of illicit liquor, the sleuth of Excise Department Excise Sub Range Akhnoor led by Harish Sharma, Excise Inspector under the supervision of Tina Mahajan ETO North Range conducted a series of raids at villages Tanda, Sathal, Nardiwalla, Balla and adjoining areas.
These raids were conducted under the direction of Javed Khan, Excise Commissioner J&K and Ghanshyam Singh Deputy Excise Commissioner (Exe.) Jammu.
During the course of raids two persons namely Harnam Kour, wife of Balwant Singh and Avtar Singh, son of Mangat Singh were arrested for possessing illicit liquor. later, 120 kgs of Lahan which was recovered during the raid was destroyed on the spot.
