12 years old girl among 2 killed, 5 injured in mishaps

POONCH: Two persons, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed and five others injured in separate mishaps across Jammu region on Saturday.
As per the reports, Payal Devi daughter of Naresh Kumar resident of village Mangnad Poonch, was killed when she was hit by an vehicle in the district, a police officer said.
He said girl (5th class student of Nanak Academy) was on way to her school with his uncle Ranjit Pal on his motorcycle (JK12-7533) when hit by a vehicle at Mangnad. He said that the driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the spot.
She was shifted to District Hospital Poonch where she was declared brought dead while his uncle Ranjit Pal received injuries.
In another accident, Jagdish Singh died when the car he was driving fell into a deep gorge in the Ramban district, the officer said.
In the third mishap, two persons including the driver of a truck were injured when it skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in the Ramban district, he said. Cases have been registered in all the three accidents, the officer said.
In a head-on collision between a scooty and motorcycle near hospital Road, two persons got injured in Udhampur.
According to report, in a head collision between a scooty (JK14A-1594) and motorcycle (PB06A-0886) in Udhampur two persons got injured which were identified as Shubam Verma son of Sanjay Verma and Kuldeep Kumar son of Parkash Nath resident of Udhampur. Injured were shifted to District Hospital Udhampur. Police has registered a case for investigation.
