KATHUA:  Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 12 bovines, however smuggler managed to flee from the spot.

As per the details, during the intervening night of Jan 3-4, 2018 a team of Police Station Rajbagh led by Inspector Sarbjeet Andotra SHO under the direct supervision of DySP Raghubir Singh SDPO Border laid a Naka at NHW  near DPS Rajbagh Chowk  and intercepted one truck (JK02V-4337) carrying bovines which was on way from Punjab to Jammu. During checking of the vehicle, police rescued 12 bovines laden in the vehicle. Driver of the vehicle managed to escape, however a case vide FIR No 01/2018 under section 188 RPC,3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Rajbagh  and manhunt launched to arrest the bovine smuggler.
