11,000 Kanals of land freed from encroachment

REASI: About 11,000 kanals of land has been retrieved from encroachers in the district of which 35,00 Kanals have been retrieved during the past two months which includes 28,48 kanals and five Marlas of State Land, 506 Kanals of Kahcharai land and 40 Kanals of Common Land. This was informed during a meeting convened by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar to review the functioning of Revenue Department, here today.
The DDC took a detailed review of progress of anti encroachment drives, attestation of Mutations, writing of Jamabandis and Girdawari registers, preparation of revenue papers for construction of various PMGSY roads under 10th Phase and various other vital issues. Deputy Commissioner directed all SDMs, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars to attest all pending mutation within one month and complete the target of writing Jamabandis and Girdawari Register due for writing for the year 2015-16 and 16-17. Instructions were also given to all officers to ensure strict implementation and disposal of services under PSGA, RTI act, pending vigilance enquiries etc in a stipulated time frame. All SDMs and Tehsildars were directed to convene public grievance redressal camps, awareness camps and also conduct regular tour and field visits to mitigate the genuine grievances of the people Deputy Commissioner also appreciated the efforts of the concerned Tehsildars and other officials and asked them to sternly act against the encroachers.
ADC, Shiv Kumar Gupta, ACR, Abdul Sattar, SDM, Katra Neelam Khajuria besides Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars were present in the meeting.
