REASI: Police on Saturday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 11 bovines and arresting two smugglers in Reasi District.
According to a report, a specific information was received at Police Station Chassana that some persons along with bovines were on way from Chana Shikari towards Kashmir Valley via Nikkin Gali on foot without any legal permission and have reached near village Sungri.
On this, a police team from Police Station Chassana led by SI Ranjeet Singh, SHO Police Station Chassana rushed to the spot and rescued 11 bovines from the possession of the two accused persons which were identified as Mohd Rafiq son of Sain resident of Channa Neosi Tehsil Chassana district Reasi and Mohd Shabir son of Noor Hussain resident of Shikari Tehsil Mahore. Both the accused persons have been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 20/2016 under section 188 RPC was registered against them.
