JAMMU: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu MA Chowdhary awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 1,50,000/- to Joginder Singh, a Charas smuggler from whose possession 1.225 KG charas was seized.
While deciding 15 years old NDPS case, 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu MA Chowdhary after hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the state whereas Adv Sumit Kumar appearing for the accused, observed that the prosecution has succeeded to prove its case to bring home the charge against the accused by proving search, recovery, seizure and analysis of the seized material having been proved that the accused was having possession of 1.225 KG of cannabis, which falls in commercial quantity and convicted the accused and awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 1.5 lacs and sent him to Kot-Bhalwal Jail Jammu for serving the sentence.
