POONCH: A ten-year-old girl drowned in Loran River of Poonch District on Saturday, police said.
The girl, identified as Samia Akhtar, daughter of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Loran, was washed away by strong currents in Loran river near Bus Stand at 9:45 AM today, said an official.
He said the girl’s body was handed over to her family for last rites.
