10 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers nabbed

SAMBA: Police on Saturday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 10 bovines and arresting two smugglers.
According to a report, a police party headed by Inspector Suraj Pathania, SHO Ghagwal foiled a bovine smuggling bid by intercepting a Truck bearing Registration Number HR55B/3481, coming from Kathua side and carrying 10 bovines which were being illegally transported without permission. On seeing the police Naka laid at Ghagwal, the driver of the said vehicle fled away under the cover of darkness, leaving the vehicle on spot much before the Naka.
Accordingly, the bovine animals were rescued, vehicle seized and a case vide FIR No. 41/2016 under section 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Ghagwal. Meawnhile, during the intervening night 29th-30th April 2016 Miran Sahib Police led by SHO SI Hilal Azhar arrested two bovine smugglers after a hot chase. The accused persons were identified as Mohd Rafiq son of Haji Babu Murallian Jammu and Lal Din son of Fayaz Ahmed resident of Dansal Jammu.
Truck No. JK02AL/4306 was also seized and case vide FIR No. 73/2016 under section 188/RPC 3/PCA Act was registered.
