10.5 grams heroin recovered, 2 arrested

JAMMU: Police on Tuesday arrested two narco smugglers and recovered 10.5 grams from their possession.
On a specific information, a police party laid a Naka at Kunjwani Chowk. During the checking, a white coloured Alto car bearing No JK06 6334 was signaled to stop but the driver broke the cordon and fled away towards Satwari. The vehicle was intercepted at Gangyal Chowk and two youths traveling in the car were frisked recovering 10.5 grams of heroin from their possession. They were arrested on the spot and have been identified as Rumim Ahmed (35) son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Malik Market Bye Pass, Jammu and Altaf Hussain (28) son of Anwar Hussain, resident of Bathindi.
A case FIR 07/15 under Section 8/20 of NDPS at was registered.
Police official said that during the investigation it came to light that Rameem Malik is a habitual smuggler of Chitta and keeps on changing his hideouts. He used to bring consignments from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and was selling the contraband at Rs 12,000 to 15,000 per gram. Both had brought this consignment from Damtal, Himachal Pardesh and were planning to sell the said narcotics to the youths of Bathindi Sunjwaan and Sanik Colony area.
The arrest was made by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aejaz Wani under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta SP South Shehzad Slaria and Uttam Chand SSP Jammu.
